Bodybuilding and pro wrestling go together like peanut butter and jelly. Ok maybe not so much anymore but definitely in the golden era of the grappling circus there was more giant masses of muscle and veins than you could shake a barbell at.

Not every name was necessarily Hulk Hogan, but some major stars of the era were up to their necks in bodybuilding. Take perhaps the most accomplished bodybuilder in wrestling history, Mr.USA Tony Atlas. Atlas has won Mr.USA and Mr.Universe championships throughout the 1980s, both highly prestigious awards. All the way across the world, the giant Great Khali was clanging and banging in the gym developing a physique that shocks wrestling fans every time they see it. Then there’s more obvious ones like the Ultimate Warrior, a guy who always looked like a bodybuilder throughout his entire wrestling career. Before he was rambling about loading space ships with rocket fuel, he was posing in a thong rocking a mustache. Picture that along with his face paint and you get a WEIRD image.

Males weren’t the only ones who had a background in bodybuilding. The winner of NXT Kaitlyn, otherwise known as Celeste Bonin was a bodybuilder before being a Divas Champion and now runs a fitness line of products. Multiple time Women’s champion and current top female heel Alexa Bliss also came from the IFBB to the WWE after gaining her life back from a battle with anorexia. THose two should easily erase memory of Nicole Bass and original Chyna. Here are 10 WWE wrestlers who were bodybuilders.
