Being a part of professional sports is a lifelong dream for many athletes. After years of training, developing skills, and becoming a star, it seems like many athletes call it quits way too young. Whether it was a loss of passion, too many injuries, or other reasons, there are stars from several professional leagues that retired early and should come back. This includes former NFL player Calvin Johnson. The Lions wide receiver played for 9 seasons and then abruptly left the team at the age of 30. The NFL is a grueling sport, but he could have played for at least a couple more seasons.
UFC fighters come and go every year due to injuries and early retirement. One of the fighters that fans wish they could have seen more of was the light heavyweight fighter named Shane Carwin. Carwin fought with the best of them, but eventually retired due to injuries. One of the most legendary wrestlers in the WWE was Stone Cold Steve Austin, but he hasn’t wrestled an official match in over 10 years. Austin still has what it takes for one more great match. One of the greatest defensive players in NFL history was Jared Allen. The massive star played for multiple teams and then retired at the height of his career. Other NFL players like Tony Romo and Peyton Manning could have one more successful season if they got the chance. Batista could make a WWE comeback at any time, but fans would love to see him do battle again in the MMA. He only fought once in the cage and it left fans wanting to see more of the Animal. Other athletes that should make a comeback include Allen Iverson, Daniel Bryan, and CM Punk.
